Review of Calamari Union (1985) by Orlok W — 08 Oct 2010
A group of men, most of them named Frank, decide to travel to the other side of the town. Life has become unbearable for them in their part of the city, because "loose-running kids and dogs make it impossible to move in the streets. We have to hide in the back alleys like lepers. We are humiliated and spat on as if we weren't free members of proud nation. Besides, an evil old woman kicked me in shin one day only because I opened my mouth in the wrong place." They split up in three groups, to make a sucessful transition through the city more likely. Most Franks die, but not by accident, more by incident.
They wrote the story while already shooting the movie. All the actor are finnish rock musicians and this movie is cool as shit.
Frank: Let's take a cab.
Frank: You got any money?
Frank: No. How about you?
Frank: No.
Frank: Let's take a cab.
Frank: OK.
