Review of Café Lumière (2004) by Martin I — 28 Jun 2007
A beautiful and lyrical film by HHH. It's his homage to Ozu. Very urban in a soft way...the opposite of Wong Kar-Wai's urbaness. It is timeless and borderless and very close to the centre of life.
A young woman trying to find a balance of the traditional and untraditional...modernity, old value structures to make a place for her own peace and happiness.
