Review of Cabiria (1914) by Mariarita M — 01 Dec 2007
A Must to see for film scholars. It's the second time I watch this epic film which inspired Griffith, and in which Pastrone experiments the his invention of the dolly (yes, he invented the dolly!!!!), and I always appreciate the sophisticated use of the cinematic devices of early Italian cinema.
Fab is also the mimesis of the music score with the compositional elements of the image and the narrative. And then the Temple of Moloch is so 'unheimlich'...
