Review of Burnt Money (2000) by Jerome K — 11 Nov 2011
Honestly, I don't remember too much about this film as I was more focused on hanging out and talking with my friends. I do know that I was disappointed in the story considering how good its reviews were.
The story is about two gay criminal lovers on the lam, avoiding the authorities after a job goes bad. Since I thought this was going to be a gay film, I was surprised that there were several straight sex scenes and no gay scenes.
Although the actors were competent, I had a hard time caring for the characters, especially since one of them seemed to be a sexoholic. There were also plot holes and it seemed like they were focusing more on the style of the film than the actual story.
Some fans of this film will probably think I didn't watch the same film as them, but I can't really say much else other than this was my experience with it. Maybe a second viewing will change my mind, but I'm not sure if that will ever happen.
