Review of Burnt by the Sun (1994) by Jason W — 06 Jan 2008
This falls under the "film" category instead of being just a "movie". It manages to reach inside and grab you and make you pay attention to a subject not overly exposed in modern history.
I was transported from the opening frame and still regard the river boat scene as one of the most beautiful ever shot.
(The authenticity comes from the actors real daughter in the role).
