Review of Burden of Dreams (1982) by Private U — 30 Aug 2008
This is one of those rare moments in film (pre-DVD) where a behind-the-scenes doc ends up being more completely entertaining than the movie it's covering (in this case, Herzogs' 'Fitzcaraldo').
Very "meta" - a doc about a monomaniacal filmmaker who knows no limits setting out to make a film about a monomaniacal industrialist who knows no limits. Rent both.
