Review of Bunty Aur Babli (2005) by Matt L — 14 Feb 2009
Starts off a bit cheesy, but it picks up once Amitabh Bachchan shows up, like most things do. Abishek and Rani Mukherjee play two idealistic kids who, their dreams denied, turn to the art of the con, blazing a trail across India.
Bachchan is the cop who sets out to find him and he's hysterical, a larger than life send-up to every Clint Eastwood/Jack Bauer (and, really, every Amitabh Bachchan) character in a movie like this.
Only he's not the lead, he's just out of sight of them through most of the film. Fun stuff.
