Review of Bulworth (1998) by James B — 13 Apr 2008
Why don't they make painted movie posters any more? This shit is just awesome. But most of this movie is. Thankfully, hallmarks of mid-'90s filmmaking don't slap you across the face at every moment.
This isn't just a bitter black comedy, nor is it purely a "fish out of water" bit extended for an hour and a half. Bulworth is a film with a clear thesis on American politics - the current system is corrupt and the people in it clueless - and a sharp view of why it won't change.
