Review of Bullet (1996) by Julian W — 21 Dec 2007
I always thought Mickey Rourke was a bit of a douchebag and not a very strong actor. I heard about this film long before I ever saw it, it was huge in Holland when I was travelling through there in 1996, I only managed to get my hands on a copy when I got home in 97 and understood why it was so well loved.
Most people would pass over it because of Mickey Rourke or Tupac and maybe thinking it's just another gang-banger flick but it's really about brotherhood whether it's blood or through shared experiences.
Ted Levine is awesome, Adrien Brody is great as the tortured artist and Lester the molester is the 'sexiest motherfucker in this place!' See it, it works on a lot of levels and it has some brutal violence for those of you looking for it.
