Review of Bubba Ho-tep (2002) by Magill F — 24 Jun 2008
As much as I love the Evil Dead films, I'd have to say that this is Bruce Campbell's best performance ever. Even though the movie is about elderly Elvis and black JFK teaming up to fight a cowboy mummy in a rest home, it manages not to be tongue-in-cheek.
Instead we're treated to a truly original movie that takes its characters seriously even if the plot revolves around the ridiculous. An amazing flick, and a real heartfelt tribute to the elderly. Never, but never fuck with the King.
