This is my favorite of the Johnnie To films I've seen. The opening shootout alone would give Michael Mann and John Woo a run for their money. Aside from being a great piece of hong kong action cinema, it's also an intereting portrayal of the relationship between police and the media, not much unlike Dog Day Afternoon.

This film is just more proof that Johnnie To is not only one of the greatest asian action directors working today but one of the best in the world.
