Review of Bra Boys (2007) by David B — 07 Jul 2008
Fells a lot like Dogtwon, this excellent Aussi film follows the lives and battles of One of the Worlds most notorious surf tribes.
Like many inner city youth these men turn to the beach as a way to escape the troubles of life in their community, troubles they can never seem to get away from.
Some killer surfing shots mixed with heartfelt personal stories and even the role the Bra Boys played in stopping the violence of Sydneys horrific 2005 race riots.
Im sure soon to be an underground classic, a must see film especially for those of us who grew up on the other side of the tracks.
