Review of Boy 7 (2016) by Bengel W — 02 Mar 2016
The film starts interestingly with some music that has the usual depth one expects from a film from the Netherlands. Acting is strong with great characterisation and emotions that is compelling throughout.
The lighting and photographic artistry is to be complemented but is spoiled by the overuse of the shaky camera syndrome in the beginning which thankfully got less as the movie progressed. The story is not unique and has lots of the usual clichés, such as beating up transport police etc.
Music is typical modernist as one gets use to in such films however, does add depth to the situations as they appear on screen. Entertaining for teenagers and the artistic. Nibbles: Carrots with dip.
