Review of Borstal Boy (2001) by Jon N — 14 Apr 2009
Ah, the potential this movie had and how little of it got exploited! It's not a bad film -on the contrary- it's a decent, smart, honest film and true to the life of Brendan Behan (since this is an biographical film).
However, since this is a subject widely shown and used, it should have transended into something a lot better. It seemed incomplete in many ways -it always began explaining something and then left it unexplained. Interesting film, nonetheless, but that's all there is to it.
