Review of Bobby Fischer Against the World (2011) by Jack S — 08 Apr 2014
Fascinating documentary about the legendary Jewish-American chess genius Bobby Fischer, who shot to worldwide fame in 1972, with his world championship clash against Russian Boris Spassky. This very thorough film pieces together Fischer's childhood as a boyhood prodigy, and how his complex and difficult nature saw him quit chess and refuse defend his world title.
He seemed to wander aimlessly after his chess career, engulfed by conspiracy theories. An intriguing documentary about an intriguing man.
