Review of Blood Wedding (1981) by Irvin C — 17 May 2009
This movie surprised me a bit. I knew it was one of Carlos Saura's so-called "flamenco" trilogy of films but I was surprised that a huge bulk of the film is virtually all dancing. That's not to say I disliked it.
It took a bit getting used to, but once I got into it, it was pretty intense (my heart was pounding during the knife sequence). It's also beautifully shot and poetic. I liked it more than I thought I would.
