3.5 stars for the film itself, but 5 stars for Joe Castro's incredible gore effects, which are some of the best (and most disgusting) I've ever seen. This is pure Herschell Gordon Lewis fun, although this one does tend to start feeling more like a Troma film at times.
The bad acting is sometimes a bit too intentional, whereas Lewis's previous films usually featured a couple of bad actors who were actually really trying. But the man still knows how to turn stomachs and cover eyes, that is for sure.
