Review of Blood Brothers (2008) by Zachary L — 22 Aug 2008
A remake of John Woo's Bullet in the Head in 1930s Shanghai... it's even produced by John Woo... but doesn't live up to the original. Three brothers leave their small village behind for the glamor of Shanghai, only to be conveniently drawn into the inner circle of the biggest criminal in the city.
A plot that has been done before in numerous other films (and not just BiTH). I always enjoy Daniel Wu however the ending does not make up for the beginning which starts off slow to set up all of the characters.
