Review of Blood Brothers (2008) by Fascade F — 10 Mar 2009
As John Woo-inspired as the film may claim to be, this film fall short. The violence quotient is notably low, which, while not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, it does nothing to energize the film's slow pace and lackluster plot.
Even when gunfire occurs there is remarkably little panache to the proceedings, save for the finale, which rises above the rest of the film, but not the genre. Action aside, the characters are the most important part of this movie but they aren't given their due; they're hollow stereotypes at best, making it impossible for me to honestly care about anything, really.
