Review of Birdshot (2017) by Fidel Antonio M — 29 Sep 2017

I finally got to see Birdshot, which was recently chosen as the official submission of the country to the Academy Awards. Not my first choice, to be honest. I?m Team Respeto all the way. I felt that the story demanded more immediacy in its storytelling.

I would have preferred a tighter edit and faster pace, especially during the first act. I even dozed off inside the cinema. The couch at Cinema ?76 is partly to be blamed. Nonetheless, the acting was all aces across the board.

I?d like to see Arnold Reyes and John Arcilla in another crime thriller. Paging Erik Matti.
