Review of Bela Lugosi Meets a Brooklyn Gorilla (1952) by Jordan K — 19 Jun 2011
Two entertainers get lost on their way to Guam and land on an isolated Pacific Island. The inhabitants are natives as well as a mad scientist (played by Lugosi; there are vampire references done in a comedic manner).
The scientist literally makes a monkey out of one of the entertainers. Too much singing in this rather unfunny comedy-horror. The pair of entertainers very closely resemble Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis (who aren't funny in their own right) and apparently Lewis even sued to have this film blocked from release.
Maybe he should have won.
