Love this film. I've watched it twice now. Really confused by the bad reviews from critics; it sounds like they've either got something out for Christensen, or else they didn't understand what they were watching.
The relationship between Richie and Sophia is just the superficial level of a heartfelt film about a man who is drifting over the edge after losing the sister he idolized and the woman he loved. It manages to cover a few heavy subjects with a great level of humor, as well as a careful attention to both the soundtrack and cinematography.
