Review of Beats Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest (2011) by Luke C — 20 May 2012
Fantastic documentary about one of the greatest hip-hop bands of all time. It's everything a good documentary should be - Interesting, informative, and highly entertaining. Most importantly, Beats Rhymes & Life has a big heart.
Director Michael Rapaport clearly has a great love for the band and it comes through strongly. It helps that the band members themselves are really genuine, wonderful people and have highly enjoyable stories to tell.
One can only hope that any differences and discrepancies can be put aside in order for the band to record more beautiful music. One of 2011's best.
