Review of Bear (2010) by Dave A — 10 Jul 2010
In an idle and careless moment I paid to watch this film on tv. To be fair to myself I remember a film, 'Grizzly' I think it was called, with an 18 foot bear that knew how to terrorize, even if the plot was nicked straight from Jaws.
This memory had me thinking that 'Bear' would be a bit of grizzly fun, but it was one of the most mind-numbingly tedious films I have ever watched, the characters were poorly written and poorly acted, the plot unimaginative and unbelievable, the bear too small and not at all scary.
The film makers missed an opportunity to liven things up with the potential for an hilarious end with the presence of cake, drugs, alchohol and fire in the car for an explosive ending but no imagination was evident.
The best bit of the film is when soeone walks across the screen as the credits roll and the editor obviously thought it wasnt worth taking out as it provided a tiny bit of relief to an otherwise worthless film.
