Review of Battlestar Galactica (1978) by Stephen M — 21 Mar 2008
As a teenager, an American living in Europe, I went to see the theatrical realease of BATTLESTAR GALLACTICA. It was clear, even then, that they were riding on the success of STAR WARS but I didn't care. The sci fi storyline was exciting, the spaceships were cool, the guys were hot and Jane Seymour! How do you not like a film with Jane Seymour!
I imagine that today this movie seems old hat, especially with the fantastic and popular new version of the show; but for those of us with a sense of nostalgia, Battlestar Gallactica will always have a special place in our hearts; even if all the cheesy flaws are more apparent now, than ever.
