Review of Basket Case 2 (1990) by Peter E — 11 Jun 2009
Even sillier than the first one, basket case 2 is a wierd, enjoyable film, showing the next adventure for the lovable duo of Duane and Belial, following the conclusion of the first film. This film has obvious similarities to Tod Browning's "Freaks" and clearly doesn't take itself seriously, which is evident from the beginning, considering Duane is still alive, following the conclusion of Basket Case.
More comedic than gory, this sequal is surprisingly pretty tame on the violence, and feels less like a horror movie than its predecessor. The cheesiness and laughs are kicked up a notch and it quickly becomes apparent the film intends to stray into a new, different direction than the first basket case.
