Review of Band Baaja Baaraat (2010) by Adesh P — 16 Dec 2010

Its like one of those parties where everyone was having fun while I was sulking and being cynical. But what else one can do witnessing a film with no real conflict, no gravity (What am I saying), a simplistic problem (not even problems) with an over simplistic resolution where what characters feel is said and not shown- main kitna bada ullu ka pattha hun(as if there was a doubt), main kitna dukhi hun (Me too!), maine rule banake rule tod diya (Maine bhi, I came to watch this), oh maine to yeh tumhein paane ke liye kiya (Why?) and whatever, supported with such exaggeration, really bad songs, horrible production design, a very very unmemorable and badly placed item song with acting of, at best, a dignified raamleela variety and where the funniest thing is when a character calls business, binnes- just imagine! I even tried tickling myself but didnâ(TM)t help.

.. So how could I be not cynical and sulking?
