Review of Armadillo (2010) by Nick D — 17 Apr 2011
It's hard to process the reality of this. In my head, it already feels like a fiction. Yes, I know all documentaries are fictitious in some way, stories told in editing yadda yadda, but I mean in a more direct sense, that my mind remembers the characters and the incidents as if they were from a drama.
I think it's something to do with not expecting to be able to see footage like this from Afghanistan. The intimate look at the life of the soldiers is rare enough, but the scenes involving the Afghans they meet (and the ones they kill) were what made it truly uncanny.
