Review of Argo (2012) by James M — 08 Oct 2013
Argo is an intelligent, suspenseful and intense historical thriller with engaging performances, emotional depth, subtle humor and stylishly depicting the 1970's; completely drawing you into the era.
It also showcases Ben Affleck's sure-fire talent as a great director and his omission for Best Director at the 85th Academy Awards I'm sure will go down in the "film history books" as one of the greatest award snubs of all time.
But it just shows, awards aren't everything. Argo is one of the best (and potentially could be "THE BEST") movies of 2012. Recreating Tony Mendez and the CIA's incredible rescue mission with great care and integrity.
5/5 stars.
