Review of Arachnid (2001) by Erik N — 04 Dec 2010
Probably one of the truest B-Movies to come out of the 2000's. Little to no CG effects and lots of really big monsters, paper thin character architypes, high body count, and loaded with cheesy dialogue and story arcs. If that isn't a B-Movie, I don't know what is.
This is a movie to watch when you are in the mood for something you can throw away, or to get a couple friends together and MST3K the hell out of it with a big bowl of popcorn.
I enjoy watching this movie even though I recognize that it is a pretty aweful movie. Most of my enjoyment stems from growing up with movies like: The Deadly Mantis, Attack of the Crab Monsters, Them (which I still love to this day), Godzilla, and all those other giant monster movies. So for me, watching this movie is like being eight years old again and watching Them for the first time.
