Review of Anus Magillicutty (2003) by Greg K — 21 Jul 2007
The old saying goes: ?If you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all? but then what can one write about cinema such as Anus Magillicutty? The answer: Everything.
This movie is good beyond words. For starters the best opening, internal monologue in history, delivered with enough laid-back, sleazy confidence to carve a block of ice. After Anus bags the woman, cut to action, an assassin, who is after Anus, is killed by his girlfriend and Anus gets charged with the task of disposing of body. The genius is when this simple task gets increasingly harder until it becomes undeniable that even the Devil himself is after Anus Magillicutty.
The script, though 99% improvised, is genius and touches on issues every common man can relate to: the father-son bond, love, responsibility, friendship.
In summation this is a movie for the whole family.
