Review of Anna Karenina (1935) by Alex M — 29 Mar 2008
Anna Karenina was never going to translate easily to screen, but if you can accept losing 75% of the book (which I was prepared for), this does it quite well. But unfortunately Vronsky is hopelessly wooden and Karenin is full of charisma - which is just so unforgiveably the wrong way round.
