Review of Amores Perros (2000) by Sofia K — 09 Apr 2010

Excellent, strangely very poignant and truthful film about loving and the human condition. It doesnt leave you even long after its over.

I liked this one a lot. It's philosophical nearly. One of my favorites.

But if you cant stomach violence towards animals or the sight of blood, not for you. The story, characterisations, editing and the performances and also the background score actually - are very good. I find it hard to believe that it's a debut effort... like its claimed above. Seems like the work of a well established film maker, its put together that well, and its guarantee to hit you in one way or another. This one makes for an evening of movie viewing contentment.
