I think Its the film encapsulation of the term **** and sugar mixed'. This film is quite beautifully shot, and has some impressive visual effects for such a low budget. However, I could never tell what this wanted to be.

Such an intriguing premise prompts a healthy mixture of action and drama (take a page from Chronicle for example) but what tried to be Josh Trank's cinematic experience was rather dumbfounded magic tricks and acting that could never grasp onto what our main character, Melvin, was trying to achieve.
