Review of American Grindhouse (2011) by Kris W — 05 Nov 2010
"Giving Audiences What They Want Since the Dawn of Motion Pictures.".
Narrated by the great Robert Forster, it tracks the "Grindhouse" from its origin starting with the very 1st silent films ever made threw the decades, as well as delving into the different types (i.e. "blaxploitation", women in prison movies, gore, birthing movies, drug movies, biker movies, etc.). If you don't appreciate those genres, it may be hard to stomach, they are an aquired taste (and seeing Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's Grindhouse double feature does not count, though great, they played in most theaters, so already they were't).
