Set in New York City, it is story of two friends; one (Ellen) who is dealing with an abusive boyfriend and drugs, while the other (Claude) is sexually confused in regards to Ellen. Inevitably, Claude tries to help Ellen through her ordeals with drugs and her boyfriend, while putting her needs on the backburner, seemingly to win Ellen's heart.
Further stress is put on Claude and Ellen's friendship when one of Claude's friends is murdered. The movie itself is great, especially since it does not shy away from putting the harsh realities the two girls go through in your face.
