Review of All My Friends Are Leaving Brisbane (2008) by Chris P — 26 Jul 2012
One of those films that sneaks up on you so that by the end you almost feel part of the action, in that you know all the characters and want to know what happens to them. It works because it identifies a number of related issues that bother those of us in our late twenties/early thirties.
The fact that it's set in Brisbane is neither here nor there; in fact part of the point seems to be that all cities are the same. The performances are engaging and there are some hilarious moments, not least when Tyson tells David, "Mate, you don't make friends with unattractive women!" Still pondering that one, but it may well be true.
