Review of Aftermath (1994) by Wayne K — 25 Jul 2015
A short film that is worryingly reminiscent of Nekromantik, though with significantly better production qualities, but still without any involving storylines or engaging characters. Aftermath is a brief, unsatisfying glimpse into the life of a necrophiliac who indulges in his habit while going about his business at the morgue.
Shot with no dialogue, it does manage to create an eerie atmosphere using only music and expressions, and contrasts the main characters filthy world of his perversions with that of his squeaky clean home life.
Fans of blood and guts will get what they came for, but anyone expecting much more will be disappointed, for there's very little else to be found within its 30-odd minute runtime.
