Review of After Life (1999) by Mitch P — 24 Feb 2005
You'll move to the screening room now and watch the memories we have created for you. The moment you relive your memory you'll move on to a place where you can be sure of spending eternity with that memory. :fresh:
What one memory would you take with you into eternity? A kiss, a walk in the park, a shared laugh with a loved one, a sunrise, the perfect summer breeze . . . This is a great movie to provoke those "what would you do" conversations, so I would suggest watching it with friends or loved ones.
This is my third viewing of this quiet, tender film, and despite being slow paced, I never get bored with the story. The staff, who are there to assist souls into eternity, are very much like counselors, listening intently and offering support. Between the character development and the dialog, you can not help but come to care about the staff members and these migrating souls as they share their thoughts about love, life and memories.
