Review of Abe Lincoln in Illinois (1940) by Doug D — 16 Sep 2008
Good bio of the early days of Lincoln leading up to his presidency. Raymond Massey is excellent as the president, he carries the film, and makes the film watchable during the slow moments. It picks up in the second half when he starts to really get into politics.
Some nice moments throughout, especially the final few speeches. A good film.
