Review of A Band Called Death (2013) by Ojas V — 22 Dec 2013
Although the proto-punk band DEATH was lost in the haze of the 1970s rock scene, the story of three black teenagers in detroit who formed the band lives on through old recordings and the surviving band members themselves.
These kids were good natured, spiritual, and full of the energy that makes rock and roll a great outlet for youthful angst and expression. Although it must have been difficult to live through this whirlwind, the brothers don't seem to be cynical about their experiences of the lows and highs.
Their resurgence in the underground scene is interesting, and it was fun to see the mantle being passed...
