Review of 71 Fragments of a Chronology of Chance (1995) by Ville V — 19 Sep 2007
A montage of modern Europe and the seemingly inherent violence in it. As usual, Haneke doesn't try to explain or rely on the pity of the viewer. As the title says, it is a simple collection of fragments, but one cannot help to think that the fragments are part of a greater, very real and present whole.
