Review of 35 and Ticking (2011) by Carol M — 18 Sep 2011
A Luke-warm script with a solid storyline that unfortunately don't take off due to bad direction. Took awhile to identify the characters and their dynamics. However the film was enjoyable and relatable.
The cast performances (in my opinion) were riveting. Everyone played their role and did a good job. I was especially fond of Nicole Ari Parker performance and Calvin Richardson. Kevin Hart, Meagan Good, Tamala Jones also carried their weight while Wendy Robinson, Mike Epps and Kym Whitley performed in their usual deception.
This movie is like a turning point for adults in their mid-30s and haven't yet reached their full aspiration. It gives you something to think about. I'm sure if a little bit more money was invested in the film it would have been solid enough to be released in theaters.
