Boogie Nights is a movie about porn, and we see these characters who don't leatn a lesson, nor change, it's about luxury and sex. This one is a movie about music, and as much as I criticize spectacle, I loved it in this one since it was about Manchester, music, drugs, sex, guns.
Patterning behavior, breaking the fourth wall and the constant rubbing in our faces that this is a movie, but it's not your average hero's journey, it's just a man who wanted something, who got it and God told him he was right.
Visually wonderful and extremely funny.
