Review of Zoo (2005) by Adam P — 05 Jul 2007
A flawed, but courageous film that is more of a meditation than a typical documentary. The film explores zoophilia with a disarmingly sympathetic portrayal of its practitioners while still acknowledging the obvious criticisms.
Ultimately, the film is thought provoking without providing the comfort of resolution. Nevertheless, the film suffers from a slow pace. Several scenes are little more than filler. Additionally, many of the film's most powerful scenes are hindered by an amateurish score.
In spite of these misgivings, the film deserves credit for unflinchingly tackling a difficult topic.
