Based on the novel "Confusion of young Torless" by the great R. Musil this is Schlondorff's first movie. Not for everyone.
The acting by the leading actor is fantastic: a German Hamlet. I especially liked the imaginary numbers allegory, and the mathematics teacher in the movie.
