Review of Xiu Xiu: The Sent-Down Girl (1998) by Pj T — 15 Aug 2007
There's not a lot of action in this one, it's very subtle. The ending, therefore, kind of sneaks up on you. Ultimately, I thought the actress who played the lead was well-chosen because she had a very expressive face that made her seem dreamy and hopeful and adult-like and childlike all at the same time.
Worth watching, lots of shots of the spacious, Chinese countryside, but not as good as it could have been, in my opinion.
