Review of Winter's Tale (2014) by Jill C — 15 Feb 2014

I loved this movie! I wasn't expecting it to be such a fairy tale romance, but all the better :) Of course, Colin Farrell was his usual fantastic self - this role didn't require as much of his acting chops as some of his other movies, but he was fantastic.

We saw it on Valentine's Day as a date night movie, and it was perfect. Russel Crowe inhabited his character - he is so good at playing bad. And how eerie to see Will Smith doing what he does in this movie - we are not used to seeing that! This is a sweet romantic tale that does require you to believe in magic, miracles and fairy tales, but what the heck is wrong with that? All these "professional critics" are so off the mark on this one.
