Review of Wind River (2017) by Randy B — 28 Aug 2017
A ton of Old Geezers Who Go To The Matinee Alone showed up for this, but it is so good the mumbling was held to a minimum. This is an exceptionally well made 'modern' western. Very well thought out, outstanding acting, and a very satisfying end.
The climatic gun fight is about as good as they come. The story weaves in conditions on reservations along with solid back stories. Everyone was on their 'A' game, but Jeremy Renner was just terrific.
As expected Graham Greene was spot on in a small, but important, role. This one is good enough to see again. It is very violent and relentless but worth it all. If you can go on a hot day this one will cool you down with the blizzards and freezing winter scenes.
I give this my best recommendation.
