Review of White Palms (2006) by Marta K — 27 Feb 2009
European films just have their own unique color palette. I love the cinematography and art direction ( at least during the childhood segment). The sparse soundtrack and close-ups achieve to bring out the lost childhood that dongo goes through.
It makes his achievement in the end all the more rewarding. At some points the movie reminds me of a nightmare..not a bad one but one we cant help revisiting.
